Brand’s B Corp Assessment Emphasizes Thoughtful Business Practices
Morro Bay, CA (February 1, 2018)— All Good – makers of organic and botanical skincare products – sets an example of social and environmental responsibility within their community and industry. The company recently completed their fourth official B Impact Assessment, a biannual requirement for companies certified as B-Corporations.
All Good’s 2017 B Impact Report illustrates a 17-point score improvement that meets the company’s rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency. The report acknowledges continued improvement for best practices and commitment to companies’ environmental and social business decisions.
“All Good is designed and dedicated to serve people and the planet,” shares All Good founder and CEO, Caroline Duell. “Every year, our team evaluates improvements and innovations that will support our company, customers and staff as part of the solution to bettering the planet and society. We are grateful these efforts were recognized by the B-Lab and appreciate all of our fellow B-Corp companies who continue to push the envelope. Together we are making a better world.”
All Good’s largest score increase falls within the ‘environment’ category. The company developed a system for tracking and targeting reduction in energy usage. They also grew their distribution of non-toxic sunscreens in affiliation with their #ReefFriendly campaign – a 2017 initiative designed to protect coral reef populations through the elimination of toxic chemicals in sunscreen products. Lastly, they increased production of certified organic raw materials including those sourced from the company’s own farm.
Additionally, All Good strengthened their scores in the ‘workers’ metric by increasing employee benefits through the adoption of 401k plans, longer paid vacation time and professional development training in staff-chosen topics.
“Meeting the bar for B Corp certification is hard enough,” states B Lab’s Community Developer, Andy Fyfe. There are currently 40k+ businesses using our free assessment tool to measure and manage their impact. But showing the humility to recognize areas for improvement and strive for them is what responsible business is all about. All Good continues to lead its industry and inspire the next generation of business leaders to follow.”
As a Certified B-Corporation, All Good’s vision is to inspire people to live in balance with nature. Rooted in these values, they partner with a variety of organizations that share this mission and demonstrate these ongoing commitments. Most notably as a 1% for the Planet member, the company donates one percent of revenue to environmentally focused nonprofit organizations.
