Mountainsmith to Showcase Redesigned K-9 Collection at Summer Outdoor Retailer

Golden, CO – Mountainsmith – craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear – will debut a redesigned K-9 Collection at Summer Market Outdoor Retailer this month in Denver, CO (Booth #: 44080-UL). The new designs reinforce Mountainsmith’s investment in adventures with your best friend. With new materials, an updated aesthetic, and their continued focus on function-first gear, the new K9 line is all inclusive of their trademark commitment to gear that that is ‘Forged for Life.’ 

“We introduced our first dog pack in the early 1980s and have been building, testing, and playing with new dog gear ever since. For 2019, we combined consumer and retailer feedback, on-trail experience, and new materials to update and refresh the entire K9 line,” Luke Boldman, Design Lead and Product Line Manager, says about the updated collection. “From improved water resistance on the K9 Packs to more intuitive food storage in the K9 Cube to a more packable K9 bed, we are excited to debut the long list of updates at Summer OR.”

Mountainsmith has over 35 years of K9 pack-building experience as well as the expertise of a local Golden, CO veterinarian. For 2019, the K-9 Pack features the same harness technology proven to work best with dog ergonomics, while adding water resistant interior coating and increased storage. New ‘snap-closure’ design on the K-9 Backbowl and 400d Nylon material reinforce the product’s durability and ease-of-use. The K-9 Bed uses a highly compressible synthetic fabric for easier storage in the K-9 Pack (medium and large only). Pack it all into the K9 Cube, now built with roll-top food storage and more durable, collapsible dishes. Products are set to hit retailers nationwide in January 2019.

Combining 35+ years of dog pack experience and the aid of a local vet, the 2019 dog packs are the most “dogonomically” correct designs Mountainsmith has ever offered—now with added water resistance and storage. Made in Small (dogs 20 – 50 pounds), Medium (dogs 40 – 90 pounds), and Large (dogs over 80 pounds).

This 1.25 Liter collapsible food / water bowl packs down light and unfolds for easier cleaning; use it for your dog at your next watering hole. Now built with 400d Nylon and TPU coating for added durability.
