Burley introduces new single wheel trailer, the Coho XC, into retail
Eugene, OR (August 15th) – Burley Design – known for its award-winning outdoor recreational transport gear trusted by generations of families since 1978 – modernizes the single-wheel cargo trailer market with the launch of the Coho XC. Winner of the coveted 2018 Eurobike Award, the Coho XC grants cyclists unparalleled usability and maneuverability, while also resolving a key compatibility issue at the convergence of the trailer and bicycle markets. The Coho XC’s range of features compliments the needs of every journey, from single-track bikepacking to long distance touring, and is now available for purchase at Burley retailers nationwide.
“We were thrilled to have the Coho XC recognized with a Eurobike Award. This year marks Burley’s 40th Anniversary, and we can’t think of better ways to celebrate this occasion than to receive a Eurobike Award and to launch the Coho XC trailer,” says Allison Coughlin, President of Burley Design. “Our mission is to enable adventure, and we believe we’ve made a trailer that does just that: enable adventure. The Coho XC is innovative, thoughtfully designed and adaptable to any adventure, in a category that hasn’t seen change in a long time. We are excited to see the different ways in which people use this versatile trailer.”
Since 1978, Burley stands at the forefront of the highest safety and technical standards in the industry, evolving alongside the needs of their customers. The Coho XC’s Burley Ballz™ technology responds to the remarkable growth of the cycle industry, and subsequent range of hub widths on the market. As a result, this dual-ball hitch enables a cyclist to connect the trailer’s variable width yoke which fits a vast number of hubs with ease. Without tools, users can simply expand or contract the yoke to the width of their rear axle, and then, using the Burley Ballz™ hitch, drop and lock the trailer to the bike, allowing the yoke to connect at multiple angles.
The Coho XC’s range of features compliments the needs of every journey, from single-track bikepacking to long distance touring. Introducing a one-hand disconnect for easy drop-off at camp, a height-adjustable kickstand to keep both trailer and bike upright, coil spring suspension for reduced stress on trailer and gear, and a level frame and fender for maximum security of long and oversize objects, the Coho XC can embark on the toughest of adventures. In addition, consumers can appreciate the following customizations included with purchase:
- Hub compatibility from 126 – 197 mm
- Removable side panels for quick and easy storage
- Three Tire-options: 16” x3” / Off-road 16”x2.125”/ Road 16”x1.75” options
- Multiple integrated accessory mounts for easy water bottle cage and tool storage
- Tool free take-down for compact storage and easy travel
- A safety-flag holder that doubles as your exclusive Burley bottle opener
