Vasque Announces Leadership and Organizational Transitions

Red Wing, MN – Oct. 1, 2020 –Vasque Footwear, a family-owned company with more than 55 years of experience in the outdoor footwear sector, is pleased to welcome a new president to its leadership team. Bryce Wernsman has been named President at Vasque Footwear.

For the last three years, Wernsman has led marketing efforts as the Senior Director of Global Marketing at Red Wing Shoe Company with a focus on the Red Wing Shoes brand, Red Wing Store retail network and led a digital transformation across the company.  In his new role at Vasque, Wernsman will drive Vasque’s existing and new distribution, product and brand strategies across Vasque’s emerging global markets.

Prior to his time at Red Wing Shoe Company, Wernsman held a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles at Minnesota-based outdoor company, Polaris, a premium manufacturer of recreational vehicles, parts, accessories and apparel.  Away from the office, Wernsman is an outdoor enthusiast, who enjoys road, gravel and off-road cycling as well as fishing for panfish, walleye and anything that bites with his family.  Wernsman says some his proudest accomplishements to date include teaching each of his three kids to get on two wheels before the age of four, without ever using training wheels, learning to bait their own hooks and to love being outside.

Allison Gettings, who has most recently led Vasque, having redefined and refreshed the brand expression will transition to Vice President of Business Services at Red Wing Shoe Company. She will manage functions that are central to the overall mission of the company and will continue to provide needed support for the organizations they serve.

“While I will dearly miss being part of the core team of this brand, I know that Bryce has the passion and the skill to help us drive our mission of inspiring people to find reprieve from the every day in the great outdoors,” said Gettings. “Our work at Vasque remains a key part of our Red Wing Shoe Company business, and I will continue to work toward shepherding its success within the context of my new role.”
