Mountain Hardwear Launches Viv Kit; Innovative Design Collaboration with Ski Mountaineer Vivian Bruchez

Richmond, Calif. (November 3, 2020) – Mountain Hardwear, a leader in performance equipment and apparel for climbers, mountaineers, and athletes, has launched the Viv™ Kit, a full-featured ski-mountaineer kit, designed in collaboration with steep skier, Chamonix Mountain Guide ski mountaineer and Mountain Hardwear athlete Vivian Bruchez.

“The spirit of this kit is a mix between ski and alpinism with inspiration from snowboarding. Built with pack integration and gear storage in mind, the Viv™ GORE-TEX Pro Jacket features two large, zippered chest vents that allow access to oversized internal drop pockets for gloves, skins, or radios, without having to remove a carrying system. With safety being paramount, all pockets are harness-compatible, and the hood allows room for a helmet. Integrated with patented RECCO® avalanche rescue reflector technology, a two-part rescue system featured in all Mountain Hardwear advanced- to elite-level winter skiwear, these lightweight transponders require no power or activation to function and go unnoticed when worn.

A minimal and lightweight construction is the foundation of the active-ergonomic fit of this kit. With enough room and length to accommodate layering options for colder environments, it’s tailored to support warmth and movement, while reducing bulk. Articulated in key areas, the kit allows uninhibited movement, whether skinning up a mountain, accessing deep terrain via sled, rappelling into a couloir, or getting dropped out of a helicopter.
