#HikeUnited21 Sets it Sights on Nationwide Hike Participation

San Francisco, CA – May 27, 2021– In collaboration, Outdoor Advocacy Project, Women Who Hike, In Solidarity Project and Latino Outdoors announced the #HikeUnited21 event, slated for August 2021. Hike United is a way to get people out on the trails. No specific trail. No specific distance. The goal is to simply bring people together in a time when people feel more divided than ever. Organizers are striving to host at least one group hike in all 50 states, banded together under the hashtag #HikeUnited21.

“Nature can be a bridge to healing, conversation and understanding,” said Teresa Baker, founder of the In Solidarity Project. “That is the hope we have for this hiking campaign.  Bringing together the outdoor community to show a collective commitment of unity for the protection of our planet and one another.”

To get involved, brands can become a partner by emailing hello@womenwhohike.com. There is no financial obligation, just a commitment to spread the word and be part of the movement. Social media content and assets are available. The #HikeUnited2021 Toolkit is available here.

Individuals can host or find a local hike.

Here’s how:

1. Check here to see a list of existing events..
2. Potential hosts can sign this form to sign up and host a hike.
3. Hosts should research any permit requirements for your hike.
4. And also brush up on Recreate Responsibly guidelines, and share them with  hikers.
