Rumpl, Designer Nicole McLaughlin Partner to Create Upcycled Clothing Ensemble

July 30, 2021

One-of-a-kind outfit will be raffled off in sweepstakes and Rumpl will donate $10,000 to advocacy organization WeGotNext

PORTLAND, Ore. (July 29, 2021) Rumpl, the category leader in technical outdoor blankets, has partnered with Nicole McLaughlin, the sustainable designer, upcycle artist, and environmental advocate, to create a one-of-a-kind outfit using upcycled Rumpl materials. The partnership brings attention to McLaughlin’s and Rumpl’s zero-waste philosophies with the goal of inspiring more brands to rethink how we use excess products in more environmentally friendly ways.

Fans of Rumpl and McLaughlin can enter to win the vest and shorts from August 3 – 6 by visiting www.rumpl.com. As part of the partnership, Rumpl will donate $10,000 to WeGotNext, an organization that amplifies individual stories of adventure and activism for underrepresented communities in the outdoor and environmental space.

“Nicole truly inspires brands to consider how they think about the lifecycle of products and what we can do to achieve zero waste. At Rumpl, our commitments to the environment are essential in everything we do, from responsible sourcing of our materials to outdoor and environmental advocacy. We hope we can bring attention to all of the creative possibilities when it comes to upcycling, especially working with someone like Nicole who has become such a role model for the fashion and outdoor industries,” says Wylie Robinson, CEO and founder of Rumpl.

McLaughlin continues to make waves in the fashion and outdoor industries through her upcycled pieces, working with iconic brands like Arc’teryx, Hermes, Calvin Klein, JanSport, and Puma. Each of her pieces is one of a kind and highlights practical ways to reuse excess, damaged, or unsellable products. Like much of McLaughlin’s work, the Rumpl vest and shorts contain rejected and old production samples that could not be otherwise used, and the final creation embodies Rumpl’s sustainability message at its core.

“I wanted to highlight the iconic Rumpl stuff sacks for our collaboration and create something multi-functional and visually as far away from a blanket as possible,” says McLaughlin. “Because upcycling isn’t just about finding ways to minimize waste but also change our perceptions of what it is and can become,” says McLaughlin.

To participate in the sweepstakes, visit www.rumpl.com between August 3 – 6 and check out with the raffle item in your cart. Participants will automatically be entered when checkout is completed and sent a follow up email confirming their entry.
