Storied Norwegian outdoor apparel brand expands its ski touring and freeride collections
BOULDER, Colo. (Nov. 11, 2021) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Norrøna, the four-season Norwegian outdoor brand known for its sustainably built premium outerwear, unveils its Fall 2022 collection featuring its most innovative products to date. Expanding upon its iconic lyngen, and lofoten collections, Norrøna introduces purpose-built products for big mountain freeride ski touring and mountaineering built to withstand all weather conditions.
“Skiers are pushing their limits further than ever before and requiring products with premium fabrics, quality, fit and functionality to meet their needs. In keeping with our design philosophy, loaded minimalism, the upcoming fall collection features both commercial and unique products that are optimized for protection, breathability, durability, versatility for whatever the mountains dish out,“ says U.S. sales manager, Adam Chamberlain. “With outdoor participation rates at an all-time high, we are excited to expand our product offerings across multiple collections, while simultaneously leading with a truly minimized environmental footprint for every style.”
Norrøna’s lyngen collection is engineered for functionality, breathability, weight and flexibility for ski touring. The all-new lyngen Gore-Tex Active Jacket ($649) for men is Norrøna’s most breathable, lightweight weatherproof jacket developed for ski touring. The front and underarm area are made with Gore-Tex Active Shakedry, a technology that eliminates the face fabric, preventing the absorption of water to maintain comfort during high-intensity activities. The hood, shoulders, upper arms, and bottom hems are built with 30D Gore-Tex Active recycled nylon fabric for ultimate breathability. Together, they offer the ideal balance of water protection and breathability.
The lyngen Alpha100 Zip Hood ($349) for men and women is now Norrøna’s most breathable, insulated jacket. The face fabric is a lightweight double weave recycled nylon aero100 fabric for versatile protection, durability and breathability. The jacket is lined with premium Polartec Alpha Insulation, engineered to provide consistent warmth, while continuously releasing excess body heat. The all-new lyngen Gore-Tex Paclite Overpant ($379) for men and women is the brand’s lightest, most packable, and waterproof ski touring over pants. Made with Gore-Tex Paclite recycled fabric, the over pants are also suitable for general all-year mountaineering and hiking.
Designed for women, the lyngen Equaliser Stretch Tight ($329) is a technical tight made for ski touring and cold weather alpine adventures. The main fabric is a brushed, quick-drying, recycled fabric, which offers excellent movement, breathability and moisture-wicking properties. Key features include a comfortable, high waist, big stretch pockets on the thighs and an adjustable bottom leg with a gusset to accommodate walk mode and ski mode.
Finally, the lofoten assortment, characterized by its signature design of bold colors and innovative freeride features, grows with the addition of the lofoten Thermal Pro Hood ($199) for men and women. The versatile, half-zip midlayer features Polartec Power Grid in the back, stomach area, underarm and hood for excellent moisture-wicking properties. The unique grid design structure reduces fabric weight while increasing warmth and compressibility.
