Native Eyewear Launches Summer 2019 Sunglass Collection
March 5, 2019
LA REINA™ and FOUR CORNERS™ Styles Join The Native Eyewear Lifestyle Line
BOULDER, Colo. (March 5, 2019) – Native Eyewear announced today the official launch of the final two styles that complete its 2019 sunglass collection. LA REINA™ and FOUR CORNERS™ are now available for purchase in stores and online. The two new frames offer fresh looks on proven tech, inviting style into the outdoors without compromising performance. The Native lifestyle collection centers around the outdoor consumer—who goes from the trail to the tavern—and is designed to enhance all of life’s adventures.
“Each Native lifestyle frame meets at the intersection of style and performance,” says John Sanchez, General Manager at Native Eyewear. “Like our performance and active pieces, our lifestyle collection includes the premium lens technology and frame durability that Native is known for. FOUR CORNERS and LA REINA are an evolution in design inspired by last year’s popular styles SIXTY-SIX and EL JEFE. Both are progressive pieces that are lightweight and made for life outside. They’re versatile and look great on and off of the trail.”
New 2019 styles include:
FOUR CORNERS: This frame creates a new boundary for versatility that can take you on a trip from summit to shoreline—and everywhere between. On this frame, you’ll find CUSHINOL™ nose pads to keep it in place and bio-based plant resin frame material to keep the frame lightweight yet durable under extreme conditions. Its flat and square shape design features a brow bar making it a great counterpart to our SIXTY-SIX™ frame, but with a bit of NorCal inspiration.
Fit: Medium/Large Price $129-149.00
LA REINA: In LA REINA, Native finds its first “boldly feminine” frame. This piece is tough and inclusive, just like those who will wear her. LA REINA (which means “the Queen”), was designed with CUSHINOL™ rubber on both the temple and nose bridge, and is lightweight (less than 1 gram) to ensure that the piece performs during outdoor activity. Its “style without compromise” attitude nicely complements companion piece EL JEFE (“the Boss”), which was introduced in 2018. The frame breaks the rules and inspires a new story that invites style to the outdoors.
Fit: Medium Price: $109-129.00
Native Eyewear’s 2019 sunglass line consisting of five frames is now completely launched. Three other styles that round out the line include:
GRIZ™: The grizzly is one of North America’s largest and most iconic species, which is why it serves as the inspiration behind the GRIZ. This XL frame is the largest in the Native product line and the first active piece designed with side venting. Like its namesake, you might find this frame trailblazing in the Beartooth Mountains or patiently waiting along the river for its next lucky catch.
Fit: Large/ Extra-Large Price: $109-129.00
RAGHORN™: Made for the sportsman who needs frames built tough, like them. This active frame embodies confidence and invites you to continually learn and explore. With maximum coverage, the RAGHORN has you covered during long days in the woods or on the water. Featuring cam-action hinges and venting, this frame is great for fishing, hunting, camping and hiking.
Fit: Large Price: $109-129.00
VIGOR™ ADVANCED FIT (AF): When you lead with vigor, there’s always room to advance. Featuring side vents, adjustable nose pads, adjustable temple boots and interchangeable lenses, the VIGOR AF is a performance piece made for the outdoor athlete that goes the extra distance. The adjustability of the VIGOR AF gives you a more custom and comfortable fit. Along with upgraded lens technology and temple boots over its legacy model, this frame will lead the Native performance line.
Fit: Medium/Large Price: $119-139.00
Native uses the world’s best impact-resistant, premium polarized lenses with 99% polarization efficiency. The Native lens reveals details that hide beneath the surface, and creates a color-rich experience that is more descriptive than the naked eye. The sun’s light waves are reflected off every surface creating intense glare and Native lenses are injected with a durable polarization film that acts as a filter for your eyes. In addition, Native also uses a proprietary hard coating for abrasion resistance, oleo- and hydro-phobic coatings, protects from potentially harmful blue light* and has 100% UV protection.
*Harmful HEV blue light refers to the 415-455 nanometer range of the visible light spectrum. The percentage represents the approximate amount of blue light blocked in this range.
Nature demonstrates near-infinite solutions to problem solving. We strive to create eyewear that is part of the landscape, not just passing through it. Our bio-based resin frames are durable, lightweight, strong and withstand the harshest conditions – all while reducing our carbon footprint. The bio-resin originates as the castor bean, which is widely grown all over the world. With a high strength-to-weight ratio, our frames are made of some of the lightest and strongest materials available. Additionally, the patented rubber grip CUSHINOL™ keeps sunglasses in place during athletic activity.
Like the Native bio-based frame resin, Native uses packaging that has been responsibly created. The packing materials use materials like recycled shopping bags, plastic bottles, and recyclable cardboard.
