Tailwind Nutrition On-Course at 2019 Sinister Sports Race Series
April 30, 2019
Colorado-based nutrition company will be exclusive on-course hydration sponsor of the series
Durango, CO – Tailwind Nutrition is proud to announce a partnership in 2019 with Sinister Sports, organizers of premiere endurance racing events in Alberta and British Columbia. With distances ranging from 5K to 100 miles, the annual series will offer Tailwind Nutrition Endurance Fuel on-course at all aid stations.
Sinister Sports (formerly Full Moon Adventure Company) began in 1999 with the goal of creating the toughest, most exciting endurance events in Canada. Their signature event, the Sinister 7 Ultra, has won multiple awards and grown from 160 runners in 2008 to selling out in 2019 in mere seconds at 1,600 runners. In 2017, Sinister Sports decided to expand their series with the purchase of the Canadian Death Race–a death march over three mountain summits and over 17,000 feet of elevation change.
“The Sinister Sports Series is one of the premiere endurance racing series in all of North America,” says Tailwind Nutrition co-founder Jennifer Vierling. “We are beyond excited to partner with them this year, as they consistently organize some of the toughest and most exciting races in Canada. Tailwind products, already embraced by Race Directors around the world on courses including the Hardrock 100, Tarawera Ultra, and the Thames Path 100, are perfectly suited for the challenging conditions that are found at these races.”
Tailwind Nutrition’s Endurance Fuel is simple to use, and gives runners all the calories, electrolytes and hydration they need to compete at their highest level. Additionally, with its mild flavor, runners can easily drink it all day and avoid stomach distress after extended periods of high-intensity output, making it the ideal on-course drink for Sinister Sports event participants.
“Sinister Sports runs some of the most attended ultramarathons in Canada. This means we have to provide fuel for a lot of people with different palates and, in some cases, digestive concerns,” says Brian Gallant, Race Director for the Sinister Sports Series. “We also try to partner with the best brands; products that are innovative and simply knocking it out of the park with quality. We always like to try out products before approaching them to bring them to our events, and our crew agrees that Tailwind was the way to go. In every way, Tailwind fits our criteria. More than that, we listen to our participants, and people have been calling for Tailwind because it just works.”
Tailwind Nutrition will make its debut on-course at four signature events including; the Run the Rocks 5K (September 14, Crowsnest Pass, AB), the Black Spur Ultra 54K and 108K (August 23-25, Kimberley, BC), the Canadian Death Race (August 3-4, Grand Cache, AB), and the Sinister 7 Ultra (July 5-7, Crowsnest Pass, AB).
