Fischer kicks off winter 2024 with another award-winning ski and boot lineup

Auburn, NH/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Fall Gear Guides are out and Fischer Sports US is thrilled to have earned awards in a number of the ski industry’s top tests. Winter 2023/24 has proven to be another banner year of recognition for Fischer’s Alpine and Nordic ski and boot lineups.

Alpine Awards

The top mark was awarded to the new RC4 Pro MV ski boot in the Outside/SKI Magazine 2024 Winter Gear guide. This revolutionary new boot won Editor’s Choice for Best Alpine Ski Boot. Testers raved, “This thing is a legitimate work of art…This combination delivered the best fit we’ve ever found in a medium-volume boot: precise, comfortable, and extremely warm.” Another standout in Outside/SKI Magazine included the Ranger 102, ranking #3 in the Best Women’s All-Mountain Wide ski category, with testers noting its qualities as “a confidence booster you can trust to get you where you’re going without any drama.”

In the backcountry category, the new Fischer Transalp 105 CTI touring ski won a Backcountry Magazine Editors’ Choice Award for the Sport Touring category, with tester Gavin Cooper noting of its versatility “A user-friendly ski that takes input like a favorite ski partner. Down for anything and stoked regardless of the conditions.” Additional coverage in the Backcountry Magazine Gear Guide featured the Transalp 98 CTI ski,  the Transalp 86 CTI Pro ski, the Transalp Carbon Pro boot and the Transalp Tour W boot.

Yet another award was tallied in the park division with the new Nightstick 97—Fischer’s dedicated freestyle ski—nabbing the Newschoolers Best of Test award for 2024. Testers were impressed by the ski’s versatility, with one saying, “There must be some magic in these skis, I was stomping tricks I normally get 1 in 5 every time. If you ride park every day, I’d recommend these skis for sure.” The new Nightstick 97 will be available for winter 2024 in limited numbers at select retailers in North America.

In Freeskier Magazine, the Fischer 2023/24 lineup garnered more positive press with the Ranger 96, Ranger 102, Ranger 108, Ranger 116,  Transalp 98 CTI and the RC4 Pro MV boot receiving Editor’s Picks accolades. Freeskier testers called the Transalp 98 CTI well suited “for adrenaline junkies looking for a pleasurable downhill experience but do not want to sacrifice ascent performance.” For the front side set, Freeskier identified the Ranger 96 as a crowd pleaser, saying “If you want to carve some beautiful turns, this is your ski. Crushed on the groomers, felt super stable at high speeds and had a quick response time. Easy to maneuver and fun to ski.”

The new Fischer Alpine boot lineup made a splash at the Masterfit/American’s Best Bootfitters test, with four boots winning a Best in Test award including the Fischer RC4 Pro LV, the Fischer RC4 Pro MV, the Fischer RC4 105 LV, and the Fischer RC4 95 HV.

Nordic Awards

For the Nordic category, Fischer won awards in the market’s two premier tests, Cross Country Skier’s 2024 Gear Guide and Outside’s 2024 Winter Buyer’s Guide.

In Cross Country Skier, the Aerolite 90 skate ski Carbonlite Skate Boot both won Editor’s Choice Awards. The Aerolite 80 skate ski, Aerolite Classic 60 ski, and Carbonlite Classic Boot also received coverage in the gear guide.

In Outside Magazine, the Outback 68 Xtralite Crown/Skin and the Carbonlite Skate Boot both were included in Winter 2024 Gear Guide highlights of the season’s best cross-country skiing equipment. Outside recognized Fischer’s work to make the boot more sustainable by writing: “Less noticeable in terms of fit and performance, but imperative if we all want to keep skiing on natural snow, is that the Carbonlite Skate was redesigned to be PVC- (polyvinyl chloride) free.”
