Trailblazer chronicles the inspirational story of McJames, who was a standout skier in her native Park City before she qualified for the Winter Olympics in 2010 as a member of the U.S. Ski Team. She was ultimately cut from the team in 2012 but committed herself to competing independently, relying on fundraisers and sponsors to support her own coaching, training and travel.
Combining intimate interviews with McJames and others who helped her on her journey with extraordinary ski footage in Jackson Hole and Alaska, Trailblazer tells the powerful story of McJames’ quest to become the first skier to qualify for the winter Olympic Games after being cut from the U.S. Ski Team. The film is sponsored by Volkl and Flylow.
“I am so excited to share my story in hopes that the grit, perseverance and self-determination I experienced during my moments of struggle will inspire others to follow their dreams in the face of adversity,” McJames said.
