Wild Rye Advocates for Women’s Rights Launching its Fourth Planned Parenthood Benefit Tee
April 9, 2024
With the election year ahead, women-led Wild Rye furthers its commitment to fight for reproductive healthcare rights
Sun Valley, ID (April 9, 2024)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – – Wild Rye, the premiere outdoor and active lifestyle apparel brand for and by women, announces the limited release of the brand’s fourth benefit tee, “Ride Fast, Raise Hell.” It is a pivotal time for women fighting for their right to make decisions about their own bodies and futures, and through this benefit tee, Wild Rye hopes to raise awareness and funds with 100% of net proceeds going directly to Planned Parenthood. Since Roe v Wade was overturned in 2022, women’s reproductive rights and access to healthcare have been challenged in devastating ways—from abortion, to birth control access, and IVF— and now in this election year, Wild Rye continues its commitment to supporting women through every phase of life.
“As a brand whose mission is to empower women, it is imperative, now more than ever, that we continue to fight tirelessly for women’s bodily autonomy,” said Cassie Abel, Wild Rye CEO and Founder. “Planned Parenthood does a fantastic job lobbying for legislation that supports reproductive rights, works to get the right people into office, and provides essential free and easy access to healthcare for all. We hope this initiative inspires other brands to follow suit in fighting the war on women, trans, and non-binary people.”
Based in Idaho, the second of twenty one states to have restricted access to abortion, Wild Rye has already raised and donated $20,000 to Planned Parenthood and various state-level abortion funds. The brand launched its first benefit tee in 2020 in the aftermath of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing with the saying “Fragile Like A Bomb.” The second iteration, an earlier version of the “Ride Fast, Raise Hell” slogan, was launched in the wake of Texas’ heartbeat law in the fall of 2021. Just six months later, Wild Rye launched the popular “Bikes, Baddies, Brews, (no) Bans” shirt, just days after its home state of Idaho wrote the same six-week abortion ban law into state legislation.
The limited-edition “Ride Fast, Raise Hell” graphic was designed by Wild Rye Pro Team member, Kajay Rooke, and is printed on the premium Mackay Crop, a recycled poly-tencel blend with a hint of stretch.
