Introducing the DDC x Arcade Limited Edition Belt Collection

October 22, 2024

Arcade’s latest artist series features standout designs by the one-and-only Draplin Design Co.

OLYMPIC VALLEY, Calif. – October 22, 2024 /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Arcade (https://arcadebelts.com), a brand founded on the belief that belts could be designed to function better, last longer and be more comfortable, today introduces DDC x Arcade, a new collaboration with Aaron Draplin and his company Draplin Design Co. (DDC).

Delivering comfort, functionality with creativity, the DDC x Arcade belt designs are one of a kind and truly stand out with emblazoned text such as “Waisted Again,” “Standard Issue,” and “Durable as Hell,” pops of color, and logo treatments developed exclusively for the DDC collab.

Draplin is a renowned American graphic designer, entrepreneur and author. He’s the kind of guy one wonders, “What can’t he do?” The DDC x Arcade collaboration emerged from a shared commitment to excellence and meeting Draplin’s standards: is the product durable, beautifully designed, and fairly-priced? With those exceeded, Draplin was inspired to develop the three belt designs in the DDC collection, each with its own unique story: Ration Can Belt, Go Easy Belt, and Logo Experiment Navy Belt.

The Ration Can Belt embodies a straightforward beauty to the “undesigned” quality of the American ration cans. Dating back to World War II, when messages were stamped onto munition cases and canned MREs for efficient communications, this approach appears in today’s classic lawn mower, where instructions are printed directly on the box, there is no desire for design rather just efficiency. The Ration Can Belt carries a simple message: buckle up and seize the day.

The Go Easy Belt in its simplest form is a love letter to Mother Earth. Its brown color is inspired by the dirt underneath our feet, homes, or fingernails. The soil is what anchors us together and allows us to make roots and grow. Featuring a patch with a friendly reminder to “Go Easy,” the belt encourages us to respect our environment and treat Mother Nature with care.

The Logo Experiment Belt demonstrates Draplin’s experience with and enjoyment of logo design, drawing out the geometric shapes of the fragmented “A” in the Arcade logo and patterning it across a bright blue colorway with DDC design touches. The Logo Experiment belt is a slim width belt for those looking for a lighter, narrower profile.

The DDC collection is available at arcadebelts.com and draplin.com. MSRP: $34.95
