PAKA Redefines Durability in Alpaca Fiber with its Mountain Crew

October 31, 2024

The Peru-based brand launches a new sweater line designed for rugged outdoor adventures.

Boulder, CO (October 31, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – PAKA, the sustainable apparel brand best known for its performance-based alpaca fiber gear, announces the Mountain Crew line, a new alpaca sweater collection designed for rugged outdoor pursuits. The Mountain Crew’s innovative alpaca yarn is knit in a unique plaited construction that makes it PAKA’s most durable sweater to date.

The Mountain Crew blends alpaca fiber, fine merino wool, and nylon for upleveled durability, with an innovative stitch mix, double-layered texture, and double-stitched seams that make it resistant to snags and easy to pack without wrinkling. Combining the best of alpaca and merino wool, the Mountain Crew boasts the soft hand feel, antimicrobial properties, and exceptional thermoregulation of alpaca’s medullated fiber with the durability provided by its innovative knit construction.

“The Mountain Crew pushes the boundaries of natural fiber knitwear,” commented PAKA Founder Kris Cody. “The alpacas of the Andes have evolved to weather some of the toughest elements, and we wanted to develop a sweater that could match that durability and resilience. Whether you’re hiking, climbing, or trekking through dense brush, the Mountain Crew is built for performance to handle the elements.”

The Mountain Crew is the first PAKA sweater offered in unique women’s and men’s designs. The women’s cut offers a standard fit with flattering stitch lines, and the men’s fit leans more relaxed. In line with PAKA’s sweater collection, the Mountain Crew includes a signature handwoven Inca ID from Peru, showcasing the craftsmanship behind each piece.

The Mountain Crew is available in Eggplant and Wood for the Women’s and Forest and Wood for the Men’s, at $145 online on www.pakaapparel.com/.
