Outside Magazine Hires New Editorial Director

Kevin Sintumuang will oversee the editorial strategy of Outside Interactive Inc.’s flagship print publication

Boulder, Colorado – November 7, 2024/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Outside Interactive, Inc., the world’s leading creator of outdoor content, services, events, and experiences, announced today that Kevin Sintumuang will be the new Editorial Director of Outside magazine. Sintumuang joins Outside after a successful eight-year stint as the Culture and Lifestyle editor at Esquire, where he oversaw many of the brand’s key editorial franchises.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring Kevin on board to help us reimagine our print product for a new generation of readers,” said Outside’s former editor in chief, Christopher Keyes, now the Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Outdoor Group. “He brings over two decades of experience working at award-winning consumer lifestyle brands and I look forward to watching him apply his energy, enthusiasm, and strategic thinking to Outside.”

Sintumuang began his career at GQ, where he spent ten years as a senior editor and eventually led the brand’s website, GQ.com. He also spent two years as a features editor for the Wall Street Journal, where he helped found the paper’s Lifestyle section

Sintumuang is an avid runner who has competed in the New York City Marathon, the Big Sur Marathon, and several half marathons. He is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and lives in Brooklyn, New York with his two daughters.
