California-based Surfer joins Mark Healy, Rachael Tilly, more on Free Fly Ambassador Team
CHARLESTON, South Carolina – November 13, 2024 /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Free Fly, a Charleston-based outdoor brand specializing in lightweight performance and lifestyle apparel made of viscose from bamboo, today, announced its latest brand partnership with California surfer and board shaper, Corey Colapinto.
A Southern California native, Colapinto began surfing his father’s extensive quiver of boards at a young age, which kick-started his career in competitive surfing. Today, through his experimental shaping process, Colapinto blends unique board lengths and shapes to help him session 2-3-foot mellow waves at San Onofre Beach. Colapinto’s unique, timeless smooth and polished style of surfing and board shaping is recognized for combining classic styles from every era of the sport. His surfboard designs, the “Fishy Noserider” and the “Thin Twin” are both popular models that are ridden all over the world.
“We’re very excited to have Corey represent Free Fly as we expand our presence in surfing,” said George Douglas, Brand Manager at Free Fly. “Corey’s classic yet modern style of surfing and board shaping aligns with Free Fly’s approach to delivering timeless apparel and outerwear pieces that can be trusted and confidently worn in any pursuit. We look forward to working alongside Corey to inspire the Free Fly community to seek adventure and chase their passions.”
“I’m so pumped to join the Free Fly team,” said Corey Colapinto, California surfer and board shaper. “Free Fly’s various bamboo products and fabrics are incredibly flexible and breathable—perfect for hiking to find unexplored areas, or surfing local breaks.”
Colapinto joins fellow surfers, watermen and waterwomen, Rachael Tilly, Mark Healey, Evan Geiselman, Christa Funk, and more on Free Fly’s ambassador team. Free Fly works alongside each of its ambassadors to inspire and innovate new apparel and outerwear pieces to help them be successful in the field.
