The Sideways Life PR Agency Partners with Trust For Public Land to Build Awareness of the Non-Profit in the Pacific Northwest
December 17, 2024
PORTLAND, OR. (December 17, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – The Sideways Life PR Agency is proud to announce it is partnering with Trust for Public Land, a national nonprofit that works to connect everyone to the benefits and joys of the outdoors, in the states of Washington and Oregon. With a shared belief that access to the outdoors is a fundamental human need, the partnership will work to highlight Trust for Public Land’s efforts in the Pacific Northwest, while amplifying awareness of the organization and its key park, trail, schoolyard, land projects in Washington and Oregon.
Based in Portland, Oregon, The Sideways Life is known for its bespoke approach to public relations, purpose-driven storytelling, and authentic community building. With its deep roots in the outdoor community, passion for time spent in nature, and a proven track record of engaging diverse audiences, The Sideways Life is uniquely positioned to help Trust for Public Land enhance its narratives and expand the organization’s reach across the Northwest.
Trust For Public Land’s work in the Northwest began more than 40 years ago along the Columbia River Gorge. Encompassing over 290,000 acres of ecologically and culturally significant terrain, towering waterfalls, 800 species of wildflower, and land sacred to multiple Indigenous tribes, Trust For Public Land worked with residents and congressional leaders to conserve this beloved wildland and designate the Gorge as a national scenic area. Four decades later, Trust for Public Land’s regional impact continues to grow. From Olympic Sculpture Park in Washington to Chiloquin School Yard in Oregon, Trust For Public Land has preserved more than 250,000 acres of open land and completed (or are actively working on) over 500 projects, helping bring Northwest residents cleaner air and water, more equitable communities, more culturally relevant public places, and a more resilient environment.
“The Pacific Northwest we experience today is no accident,” said Trust for Public Land Northwest Director Mitsu Iwasaki. “The parks and trails throughout our cities and along our rivers, and our watersheds and forests, are all the result of consistent and dedicated conservation over many years. At TPL we envision a Washington and Oregon where every resident – from urban to rural – has access to a quality park close to home as well as opportunities to enjoy trails and open spaces. We look forward to working with The Sideways Life to further tell these powerful stories and to support our regional efforts so that we can ensure everyone is connected to the outdoors.”
“In Washington and Oregon, Trust For Public Land’s conservation work touches most people on a daily basis,” said The Sideways Life’s Adriana Matthews. “The forest trail you hike on the weekend, the schoolyard your child plays at, your favorite view on the Puget Sound, yet many people aren’t aware of the role TPL is playing in creating local parks, preserving public lands, protecting forests, and transforming schoolyards. Our agency is honored to partner with Trust for Public Land to tell deeper stories of their advocacy across the Northwest and to inspire a new generation of outdoor lovers to support this incredible work.”
