July 16, 2020
New hires and relocation designed to meet growing global demand for its camp equipment
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. (July 16, 2020) – Big Agnes Inc., the Steamboat Springs based outdoor equipment brand, recently hired Jill Lewis as Director of North American Sales and Eric Einfeld as Senior Demand Planner. The company also completed relocation of its headquarters to a new location in downtown Steamboat Springs.
Lewis is a seasoned outdoor industry sales leader as she managed Canadian sales and then international sales at Cascade Designs. She brings a wealth of experience from various sales roles in industries ranging from music licensing to consumer-packaged goods. She grew up in New Hampshire, worked in her grandparents’ retail store from an early age and earned her MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management. She spends her spare time hiking, camping, gardening and practicing yoga, but lives for snow and skiing.
“We’re excited to work with Jill to help build our sales,” said Bill Gamber, co-founder and President. “She is passionate about our product category and she loves to ski and camp so she’s a great fit with our team.”
“Sometimes you meet a group of people that feel like home and then are lucky enough to get to work with them. That’s how I feel about Big Agnes,” said Lewis. “I know times are tough, but I’m in for the long haul and have faith that this talented group of people making great product will come through on top. I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the team and look forward to working with all of our retail partners.”
As the brand’s first Senior Demand Planner, Einfeld will work closely with internal colleagues to teams to meet the growing global demand for its products. He was most recently Senior Manager of Demand Planning at Smartwool where he focused on supply chain planning, inventory, demand and master data and previously held planning and analyst roles at Steamboat Ski and Resort Corp. He’s a passionate mountain biker, road cyclist and snowboarder.
“Big Agnes has a long history of developing award-winning gear and global demand is increasingly rapidly. The need for Eric’s demand planning experience right now is critical,” said Gamber. “He joins a team of experienced operations and sourcing colleagues working hard to expand our distribution and deliver our gear to markets worldwide.”
The company completed the relocation of its headquarters to downtown Steamboat Springs from a location closer to Steamboat ski area this past May. While the move occurred during the COVID-19 pandemic, the new location, in the former City of Steamboat Springs Police Station, is just steps from the Yampa River and the year-round trail and recreation opportunities accessible from the center of town. Gamber quipped, “We’ve always felt a bit like an outlaw brand so I never would have expected to move into a former police chief’s office, but the location can’t be beat!”
