Oregon winter apparel brand launches year-round outdoor products for the first time
Hood River, Oregon (May 10, 2016) – TREW, Inc., a style-inspired, performance outdoor company, has released the first spring collection in the company’s seven-year history. New products include the men’s and women’s BeWild Rain Jacket and the Up Jacket Wind Shirt which are exclusively available at TREWGear.com.
TREW was founded in Hood River, OR, renowned for outdoor adventure as well as its variable weather conditions. Inspiration for new product design is never lacking in this mecca for skiers and riders, mountain bikers, runners, wind and kite-surfers. For Spring 16, TREW has designed a new collection of innovative products that live up to the standards of the Hood River lifestyle and mark TREW’s shift from a winter-only brand into an outdoor company with year-round offerings.
New product highlights include:
BeWild Rain Jacket: The ULTIMATE superlight 3-layer rain jacket, the BeWild defies the status quo in a category dominated by 2 and 2.5 layer constructions. The BeWild fabric package is extremely packable with lots of stretch, weighs only 74 grams/m2, and because of the 3-Layer construction, it offers an unparalleled level of durability. The BeWild was designed to be a year-round, go-to rain jacket and active shell for all that TREW’s hometown has to offer — mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, trail running, windsurfing, kiteboarding, etc. At $229, this technical year-round piece is an absolute steal.
Up Jacket wind shirt: The Up jacket is truly “up” for anything and might be the most versatile garment we’ve ever made — a 3-season, super-light nylon rip-stop jacket that blocks wind and fits in your pocket. At $119, the UP is perfect for mountain biking, an early morning run or hanging out on cool days at the Event Site in the Gorge.

Additionally, the Superlight NuYarn Merino Pocket T is the ideal year-round layering piece for any outdoor adventure including trail running, hiking and mountain biking. Great for both warm and cold weather activities, the super-fine NuYarn Merino knit is stretchier, stronger and quicker-drying that any other Merinos on the market.
In 2015, TREW moved to a direct-to-consumer business model to be able to deliver market-leading product and improve the speed-to-market of new materials and technologies, while maintaining an even higher level of transparency and customer engagement.
“The new spring line is a reflection of the kind of products we are able to build now that we have gone direct,” said Founder Tripp Frey. “The craftsmanship, material choice and attention to detail are second to none and we are excited to begin to engage the broader outdoor market with products that serve our loyal customers 12 months a year.”
