Sierra Designs Welcomes New Product Development Team Member

Stephen Barnes brings extensive experience to the brand

Sierra Designs, a heritage outdoor brand with more than 50 years of experience creating groundbreaking products, is proud to announce the newest member of its New Product Development and Innovation team, Stephen Barnes. Barnes is a longtime veteran of the outdoor industry who will drive growth through pioneering product creation.

Barnes has extensive experience in product strategy and development, most recently as the president and founder of Barnestorm Product Solutions, where he worked with clients on brand messaging and product launches, as well as assisting startups with creating business plans. He also served as a product development manager with Osprey Packs, where he helped grow business tenfold during his tenure. In addition, Barnes has worked in product creation with iconic outdoor brands CamelBak and The North Face.

“Sierra Designs has always benefited from a visionary product development team, and to bring on someone of Barnes’ caliber will push the brand even further ahead,” says Eric Greene, Division VP and General Manager of the Exxel Outdoors Performance Group. “Not only does he have the design chops to lead a team, he has a proven passion for the outdoors as a former rafting and mountaineering guide and wilderness first aid responder.”
