Mountainsmith Drops New 2017 Tent Designs At OR Summer Market

Golden, CO – Mountainsmith—craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear— is set to launch 8 new tent and shelter designs at Outdoor Retailer’s Summer Market on August 3^rd. The new designs will fall in line with Mountainsmith’s 2016 tent roster this coming January, bringing a wide range of shelter options to the consumer market place, and offering designs for the experienced backpacker to the car camping enthusiast and everyone in between.

For a winter 2017 launch, Mountainsmith will be releasing the Bear Creek and Morrison EVO tent series, a Conifer 5+ redesign, as well as their new Mountain Shade Tarp and Mountain Shade Dome shelters. These new shelters will be introduced alongside Mountainsmith’s existing tents at the beginning of next year, bolstering the brand’s line of incredibly durable backcountry and car camping shelters for 2017.

The designs are loaded with brand new features including brow poles, rain/wind catch flaps on window openings, more interior space and, as always, Mountainsmith’s best in class Poly Urethane coatings for improved durability and weather resistance.

The Bear Creek 2 is a 2-person backpacking tent with an included footprint at an unbelievable price. Not only is it affordable, but it competes in weight as well. This 3-person 2-season design offers ultimate versatility. The included footprint allows for fast fly for ultra-light excursions or shady relaxation in the park.  Features include interior mesh storage pockets, tent fly ventilation windows, No-See-Um mesh wall panels, bathtub floor construction, taped floor seams, and clip-pole attachment for lighter weight and better breathability.

This ultimate family camper offers room for five (plus the family dog), an over 6 foot peak height, and a spacious front porch vestibule.
