Mountainsmith Announces Internal Restructuring and Welcomes New Sales Manager Andrew Mills

January 10, 2017

Mountainsmith—craftsmen of iconic backcountry equipment and recreational outdoor gear—has announced a series of internal promotions and new positions within the company, as well as the addition of Andrew Mills, whose main role at Mountainsmith will be to reinforce connections between Mountainsmith’s Golden-based team, regional rep force and their rapidly growing dealer base.

Among the in-house transitions, Mountainsmith’s former National Sales Manager, Jonathan McFarland, will now leverage his 15+ years of industry experience and keen eye for improving operational functionality as Mountainsmith’s Operations Manager. His ability to view operations through the lens of an experienced sales manager will put Mountainsmith’s dealers first and ensure the brand improves their unrivaled record of service and accuracy.

Torie Palffy, Mountainsmith’s former Sales and Marketing Coordinator, will manage creative endeavors for Mountainsmith, working with brand partners in the areas of PR, digital marketing and content creation. Torie will also be supporting brand reps, dealers and industry allies to grow the recognition of the iconic brand in her new role as Marketing Manager.

“Mountainsmith is riding a wave of tremendous, year over year growth, nearly doubling the size of the business in the last 5 years, says Mountainsmith President Jay Getzel. “The relationships we’ve forged with dealers and consumers alike have led to sustained profitability and increased market share.  Our personnel moves will surely help to perpetuate these trends and afford us the bandwidth to be consistently proactive as we approach our 40th anniversary in 2019.”

Mountainsmith’s newest in-house team member and Sales Manager, Andrew Mills, brings to Mountainsmith an extensive amount of experience with his past roles at Patagonia Footwear and Merrell, and he has proven his ability to work with internal and external sales teams, growing solid partnerships with dealers large and small.

“It’s such an honor to be joining a brand like Mountainsmith,” says Andrew. “Their rich history in the outdoor space and passion for making quality gear makes this a dream company to work for. I’m excited to hit the ground running and support our agency partners with additional bandwidth as they continue to drive growth for the future.”
