Outdoor Project Launches An 8-City Block Party Series

April 20, 2017

Every event includes a fundraiser for a local nonprofit.

PORTLAND, OREGON (April 20, 2017) – Outdoor Project—found online at outdoorproject.com—announced their upcoming block party event series today. The parties will be happening at local microbreweries in eight cities across the West. They are sponsored nationally by BullFrog Sunscreen, free, and open to all ages. They will include plenty of beer, food vendors, live music, and an opportunity to connect with both small and large outdoor brands and retailers.

Outdoor Project has hosted successful events in Portland, Oregon, and Denver, Colorado, over the past few years and is excited to expand the summer block party events to more places with engaged local outdoor enthusiasts. The main goal is to bring the local outdoor community together for a day of fun and to raise funds for highly deserving nonprofits focused on outdoor access and conservation. Last year’s events raised nearly $10,000 for Outdoor School for All and First Ascents.

“These events were designed to connect consumers with the outdoor brands within their community in a fun and authentic way,” said Kat Dierickx, CMO at Outdoor Project. “It’s a day for the whole community to come together and party for a cause.”

The cities included in the summer series along with the brewery and nonprofit partners are as follows:

  • June 17: Portland, OR at Ecliptic Brewery, Adventures Without Limits
  • June 24: Vancouver, BC at Deep Cove Brewery, North Shore Rescue
  • July 8: Denver, CO at Denver Beer Co, Denver Mountain Parks
  • July 29: Seattle, WA at Obsession Brewery, SheJumps
  • August 26: Bend, OR at Deschutes Brewery, Oregon Natural Desert Association
  • September 9: San Francisco, CA at 21st Amendment Brewery, Big City Mountaineers
  • September 16: Salt Lake City, UT at Uinta Brewing Co., Utah Open Lands
  • October 14: Los Angeles/San Diego, location and charity to be announced soon

Morgan Tashea, Events Manager at Outdoor Project, commented, “As an online member-driven company, having an opportunity to engage face-to-face with our members, the community, and the outdoor industry is very important for us. Our events aim to help build powerful relationships that inspire everyone to get outside and adventure. And they are just plain old fun!”

Each event will host 20 to 40 vendors including local brands, retailers and nonprofit organizations at the brewery location. Local bands are hired to provide live music throughout the day, and local food carts are brought in to help feed the 2,000 to 4,000 event attendees. All of the events are free and family friendly.
