Katadyn BeFree 1.0L Wins Gold Award at OutDoor Show

This award acknowledges Katadyn’s innovation in performance for the BeFree product family

Minneapolis, Minn. (June 23, 2017) — The Katadyn BeFree 1.0L earned a prestigious Gold Award at the 2017 OutDoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany for its ultra-light, compact design and trusted filtration performance.

On the heels of the Katadyn BeFree .6L wins for Runner’s World Gear of the Year, ISPO gold award and Backpacker’s Editor’s Choice Award, the jury selected the BeFree 1.0L alongside eight other premier outdoor products from hundreds of products for a Gold Award.

The new 1L nearly doubles fluid ounces while providing the same compact, lightweight abilities as its award-winning predecessor, the BeFree.6L. A new BeFree 3.0L will debut in November 2017 to answer the demand from backpackers and campers.

The BeFree family’s unique EZ-Clean Filter Membrane eliminates the need of backflushing, allowing users to simply shake or swish to easily clean the filter anytime, anywhere. With its Free Flowing Channel technology, the 0.1 micron microfilter provides a flow rate of 2L per minute.

The integrated bail handle on the nozzle simplifies filling, and the handy grip allows the flask to be carried easily or hung on a nearby tree once full.
