At Its Halfway Mark, Outdoor Project’s Summer Block Party Series Has Raised Over $16,000 For Local Nonprofits

Over 10,000 people in attendance through four block parties, and there are still four more block parties to come in 2017
PORTLAND, OREGON – Outdoor adventure media startup Outdoor Project—found online at outdoorproject.com—announced today that, at the halfway mark of their 2017 event series, they have officially raised over $16,000 for their local nonprofit partners, Adventure Without Limits, North Shore Rescue, Denver Mountain Parks Foundation, and SheJumps.
Outdoor Project, an online community for outdoor enthusiasts, has hosted four of their eight block parties so far this summer. Partnering with local breweries in Portland, Oregon; Vancouver, British Columbia; Denver, Colorado; and Seattle, Washington, the block parties have included over 75 sponsors from outdoor brands, retailers and conservation groups.
“Outdoor Project’s block party series was created to bring together our friends and community to celebrate the outdoors, good beer, and inspire adventure,” stated Outdoor Project Events Manager Morgan Tashea. “It has been so much fun to see our communities come together and fully support our local nonprofit partners as well.”
Josh Millward, ZEAL Optics Events Marketing Specialist and event sponsor, noted that: “The Outdoor Project events are the summer hit for any outdoor brand wanting to gain more exposure! The crew goes above and beyond in making it a successful weekend for everyone involved, plus they know how to throw a damn good party!”
Larz Stewart, Assistant Executive Director for Adventure Without Limits, the local beneficiary for Portland’s block party, was equally positive about his experience. “We are so thankful for all the organizations that were part of Outdoor Project’s Summer Solstice Block Party at Ecliptic Brewing,” Stewart said. “In one day of outdoor fun, they collectively raised over $4,000 for Adventures Without Limits!! That’s enough funding to help give 200 more Portland Metro area youth access to outdoor recreation this next year!”
Outdoor Project still has four events left this season scheduled for Bend, Oregon; Salt Lake City, Utah; San Francisco, California; and a location yet to be publicly announced in Southern California. These events offer partner companies an opportunity to connect with Outdoor Project’s community and share their culture, brands, and commitment to local outdoor-related nonprofits.
