AGLOW Selects Kevin Paulson As Next Executive Director
August 29, 2024
KNOX, IN /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – The AGLOW Executive Committee has selected Kevin Paulson to take the helm of the regional-turned-national outdoor communicator organization.
“The Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers has been blessed with some incredible Executive Directors, from Curt Hicken, to Josh Lantz, and now Mark Smith, our leadership has been unparalleled,” said Trent Marsh, President of AGLOW and chair of the search committee. “When Mark made the board aware of his intention to step away from the position of Executive Director we were all nervous about finding the next successor to that position. Through the search process Kevin stood out as uniquely skilled to lead AGLOW through its next phase,” he concluded.
Smith, who has served the organization as ED for almost a decade, will officially hand the reins over to Paulson at the conclusion of the upcoming conference at Kentucky Dam Village on Kentucky Lake, September 22-26.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as the Executive Director of this organization. The last few years haven’t always been easy, but the vision of our board and the engaged and vibrant membership from all across the country have made my tenure a true pleasure. I am as excited as anyone to see the direction Kevin takes us, and will continue to be involved in the organization in whatever manner I can be,” commented Smith.
Paulson, the owner of Huntinglife.com is a stalwart in the outdoor industry. He has been on the leading edge of digital content management and publishing, social trends, and all manner of content creation.
Marsh concluded, “Kevin is respected, connected, and driven. We’ve already talked about the path forward for the organization and I couldn’t be happier to have Kevin at the helm as we move to take things like our writer’s camps and The Outdoor Feed to the next level.”
“AGLOW has a wonderful history and a bright future. I am proud and honored to be trusted with the legacy of such an important organization and can not wait to see what we can do together as we move forward,” Paulson added.
Conference registration is still open, but rooms are filling fast. The annual conference will feature a fishing tournament on Kentucky Lake, a squirrel hunting derby, business sessions, a day afield, and networking opportunities.
