Altra Announces Expansion of the Timp Family with the New Timp Hiker, Timp Hiker GTX and updated Timp 5

New updates to the Timp 5 and an all-new Timp Hiker and Timp Hiker GTX to give a whole new level of lightweight durability, unparalleled grip and superior protection on any trail adventure - running or hiking.

DENVER, Colo., (January 31, 2024) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Altra, a leading innovator in performance running, today announced the expansion of the Timp collection to include the new Timp Hiker and updated Altra trail running favorite the Timp 5.

Timp 5

The Timp 5, is an updated version of its best-selling, high-cushion trail shoe. Now an ounce lighter the Timp 5 also includes a Vibram Megagrip compound and offers runners unparalleled grip and traction on wet and dry surfaces while the updated Altra EGO™ Max midsole provides a softer, more responsive ride to stay out longer and go farther on any type of terrain.

The new and improved Altra EGO™ Max midsole foam gives runners the perfect combination of plush underfoot feel with a little extra bounce designed for performance and durability.

The Timp 5 features a 29mm of stack height, Altra’s FootShape™ toebox and zero drop gives ample space for natural movement and running form.

Timp Hiker

The all new Timp Hiker incorporates the familiar cushion and grip of the Timp trail running shoe into a new hiking boot with added ankle support. The Timp Hiker includes a Vibram Megagrip compound and offers hikers enhanced grip and traction on any type of surface while the updated Altra EGO™ Max midsole provides cushioning and durability for all-day adventures. The Timp Hiker also includes TPU overlays around the toe for added protection and a lightweight upper adds breathability and comfort.

The Timp Hiker includes Altra’s signature natural wide fit toe box to promote a natural stride and comfortable feet. The new Timp Hiker will also be available with GTX Waterproof technology as the Timp Hiker GTX. Both models will be launching on January 31, 2024.

The Timp 5 is available in four colorways and the Timp Hiker will be available in 2 colorways for men and women. Both available for purchase at www.altrarunning.com and through select retailers. The Timp 5 MSRP is $155 and Timp Hiker is MSRP $175, Timp Hiker GTX is MSRP $185.
