SCARPA introduces Spring 2019 collection with more than 20 new and redesigned products.

BOULDER, Colo. (July 12, 2018) – Celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2018, SCARPA, an industry leader in footwear for all aspects of performance mountain sports, unveils a collection of 20 new or redesigned products for Spring 2019 that reflect the breadth of its experience in outdoor innovation and handcrafted manufacturing.

SCARPA, family owned and based in the foothills of the Italian Dolomites where it was founded, continues its commitment to the highest-levels of mountain sports through athlete-driven designs and the highest-quality materials. Equally as important are SCARPA’s vertically integrated manufacturing facilities, which are dedicated solely to producing its own products. That combination ensures the company’s unwavering commitment to the highest standards in outdoor footwear.

Those values are reflected in SCARPA’s Spring 2019 line, which includes products across the spectrum of rock climbing, mountaineering, backpacking, trail running, travel and lifestyle. It will unveil the new collection in North America at the Outdoor Retailer show (booth 37031-UL) in Denver, Colo., July 23-26. Key category highlights include:

ROCK CLIMBING: SCARPA Arpia
Designed for climbers looking to transition from a traditional flat last to a more performance-oriented rock shoe, the new Arpia is an all-around performer that is more aggressive and downturned than the flat-lasted Force V, but softer than the Vapor V. Slightly downturned with moderate curvature, Arpia is a superb all-around gym shoe that transitions well to outdoors use. A full microsuede upper, which conforms to the foot without stretching out, is paired with a padded stretch tongue and a Z-strap closure for quick and easy adjustability. A V-Tension active rand helps deliver dynamic climbing performance in a comfortable package.

TRAIL RUNNING: SCARPA Spin Ultra
The perfect choice for moderate to ultra distance runs, the new Spin Ultra offers more cushioning than SCARPA’s Spin RS, in a stable package featuring ample upper protection. The Spin Ultra features a 6 mm drop in a dual-density EVA midsole, along with a cushioned 24.5 to 18.5 mm stack height. A TPU midsole insert adds torsional stability. Unique features include a Vibram Litebase sole with Megagrip rubber, which sheds weight thanks to a thinner sole base – half a millimeter as opposed to 1.5 mm – while retaining normal-sized lugs.

BACKPACKING: SCARPA ZG Trek GTX
The new ZG Trek GTX is an athletically styled, modern take on a hiking boot that uses a low-profile midsole, giving it both a close-to-trail feel and a nimble appearance. It pairs a suede leather upper and GORE-TEX weather protection with a lightweight dual-density polyurethane midsole for durable shock absorption. The 1.8 mm leather uppers are paired with an embossed exoskeleton for added support without extra weight.

LIGHT HIKING: Moraine Air
A super-versatile, do-it-all trail shoe with rugged construction, the Moraine Air features a highly breathable design for use in warmer temps. A 1.8 mm suede upper provides support with large polyester mesh textile windows that offer excellent breathability. In the midsole, low-density EVA in the heel absorbs shock, while medium-density EVA in the mid and forefoot provides support, paired with a TPU arch insert.

TRAVEL: Mojito Hike GTX
The perfect all-in-one adventure travel shoe, the Mojito Hike GTX pairs everyday style with GORE-TEX weather protection and a versatile, shock-absorbing sole package. The result is a shoe that blends in while you’re in town but crosses over to trail-ready performance at a moment’s notice. Uppers made with 1.8 mm suede are durable with classic styling, and bring a touch of approach-shoe influence.
