Acclaimed Vermont Company Unveils First Product In New Legends Line

The new line of Scot Schmidt gloves is the first in a series of gear that will fall under the company’s Legends Line, where BAÏST will collaborate with industry legends to design gear that combines functionality, durability, and style worthy of the biggest names in snow sports.

Dubbed “the original freeskier” by Powder Magazine, Schmidt’s impact during the 1980s made for dramatic changes in skiing and helped shape how the industry looks today. He was inducted in the US Ski Hall of Fame in 2014 as one of the biggest names in professional skiing, and his years of leaping off perilous cliffs were documented in more than 40 films from Warren Miller Entertainment.

The new Scot Schmidt glove is the result of an intensive collaboration between Schmidt and the team at BAÏST, forged in design studios but also in the heart of the mountains, where Schmidt put the gloves to the ultimate test. The glove is constructed with a durable Ballistic Cordura shell and is built to withstand the harshest of conditions, and incorporates a blend of Thermo Plastic Rubber (TPR) and Carbon Fiber on the knuckles and the back of the fingers, guarding against potential injury while maintaining flexibility.

Available in white, brown, yellow, and pink, the Scot Schmidt glove is waterproof and features tactile and durable goat leather on the palm and fingers, double-layered and double-stitched in high-wear areas, enhancing durability for both skiing and mountaineering. It also offers a removable liner that caters to a range of environments and weather conditions, so that when temperatures rise or physical activity intensifies, the liner can be removed to prevent overheating.
