The two-door Tiger Wall UL2 is awarded for Excellence in Innovation at the OutDoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany
STEAMBOAT SPRINGS, Colo. – Big Agnes, the award-winning producer of tents, sleeping bags, and sleeping pads, announced today that it has received the 2018 Outdoor Industry Award for its Tiger Wall UL2 tent.
The Tiger Wall UL2 tent is being recognized for its sleek design, spacious feel, quality construction, and sustainably sourced materials. Weighing only two pounds three ounces, the Tiger Wall UL2 is one of the lightest tents in its category and features a strong single pole architecture with DAC Featherlite NFL poles. The Tiger Wall UL2 is constructed with unique, random ripstop fabric sourced from an environmentally-friendly supplier that uses less water in the fabric dying process.
“We are thrilled to be recognized in Europe and to receive a second Outdoor Show Award,” said Garett Mariano, marketing director at Big Agnes. “The Big Agnes brand is built on form and function. We work with the most cutting-edge materials suppliers and factories to produce the lightest weight functional products and the Tiger Wall exemplifies that.”
The honor recognizes the most innovative, sustainable, and functional products in the outdoor industry and is awarded at the Outdoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany. This year, the Outdoor Industry Show recognized 37 winners of the Outdoor Industry Award of 247 finalists. Only two brands received the award in the camping category of 45 submissions. This is the second Outdoor Industry Award that Big Agnes has won, receiving it in 2014 for the Fly Creek UL2.
“We are a company driven by innovation,” said Bill Gamber, co-founder and president of Big Agnes. “If we make a tent that is the lightest tent on the market, our challenge is not over. We ask ourselves, how can we make a lighter tent sourced from more sustainable materials? How can we make our products the most durable and the lightest within each class? We will continue rising to the challenge to advance the front line of innovation in backpacking and camping.”
Big Agnes will be displaying the tent and its full 2019 new product lineup at the Outdoor Show, June 19-20 in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
