Brunton Introduces New Professional Instruments and Tools for Geologists, Foresters and Others in the Field

Spring 2022 collection includes new products and updates to industry-leading collection of equipment for field professionals

LOUISVILLE, Colo. (June 16, 2021) — Brunton, the U.S.-based manufacturer known since 1894 for precision outdoor navigation instruments, announces new and updated products for 2022 that serve search and rescue, geology, forestry and tactical professionals based in the field.

“Since the very beginning, field-based professionals have been a cornerstone of the Brunton consumer group. The new accessories and updated transit options for 2022 are a direct reflection of our commitment to making their jobs easier and more efficient, so they can focus on the work and not their equipment’s accuracy or reliability,” says Becky Day, marketing manager for Brunton.

A staple in the Professional line since its introduction in 1894, the Standard Transit (MSRP $499.95) receives an update that translates directly to solving the challenge of accidentally misplacing the instrument in the field. Offered in a new, bright orange colorway, the hard-anodized finish provides superior protection in rugged environments while making it easier to spot against most landscapes, so fewer instruments get left behind. The Standard Transit in orange will be available in Spring 2022.

To complement Brunton’s Transit line, the new Weather-Resistant Transit Case (MSRP $24.95) has been designed to better protect Transit models in inclement conditions and wet environments. The durable EVA molded case features a weather-resistant lid with a snap closure, an integrated and removable ALICE clip and a built-in belt loop for up to two-inch-wide belts. Like the rest of the Transit line, the Weather-Resistant Transit Case is proudly made in the U.S.A.

Also available next spring, two new measurement tools join the Professional line to provide a better experience for work being performed in the field. The Jacob’s Staff (MSRP $69.95), a geology-specific instrument used to measure the thickness of rock layers, is a collapsible and lightweight tool that doubles as a trekking pole and is compatible with the Brunton OmniSlope Sighting Inclinator as well as the Ball & Socket Transit Mount for added versatility. Adding to Brunton’s series of reference cards, the Map Multi-Tool (MSRP $12.95) combines a ruler, 360-degree protractor and map grid into one card, providing geologists and other professionals a handy all-in-one tool that takes up little to no space in a toolkit or field notebook.

The new additions to the Brunton Professional line will be available in March 2022 directly from Brunton.com, and through select retailers.
