Cleanwaste’s Original Wag Bags® Combat Mt. Everest’s Poop Problem
April 25, 2024
Cleanwaste has officially joined the BM battle at the top of the world.
OCEANSIDE, CA (04/25/24)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Cleanwaste, creators of the Original WAG BAG®, announced the sale of 15,000 waste alleviation and gelling bags to Global Export and Import Private Limited in Nepal to prevent further human waste buildup on Mt. Everest.
This sale will come to the rescue for climbers looking to summit this season. On February 9, 2024, Nepali officials announced that climbers must bring their bowel movements back to base camp using WAG bags.
The BBC reports that the Khumbu Pasanglhamu rural municipality “has introduced the new rule as part of wider measures being implemented” to clean up the mountain. With an estimated three tons of human feces scattered between Camp One and Camp Four, climbers must do their duty to keep Everest crap-free.
“Cleanwaste is a made-in-the-USA company dedicated to helping keep the world clean, from mountaintops to beaches to daily life,” says Josh Glisan, Cleanwaste’s National Sales and Marketing Manager. “We’re thrilled to be a part of the solution.”
