Co2uT Announces RockyMounts as a Sponsor

Western Slope Neighbor signs on for 2020 and 2021

FRUITA, CO August 20th, 2020 — Desert Gravel is proud to announce RockyMounts as a new sponsor to their 2020/2021 lineup for the Co2uT Race. The inaugural event (scheduled for October 10th, 2020) starts and ends in Fruita, CO, and travels around and across the Colorado-Utah borderlands.

RockyMounts was born out of a need in the cycling community. Founded in a garage in 93′; they’ve always called Colorado home. “The Western Slope was excited to hear that RockyMounts would be moving to Grand Junction. Our community was thrilled to see this company and its employees eagerly immersing themselves in the culture that’s alive out here on the Western Slope,” said event director, Morgan Murri. “Their products are designed to eliminate worry, and built to withstand anything you can throw at them — which fits our vibe perfectly. Plus we love the tagline: ‘if you absolutely, positively cannot ride it there.’ That pretty much sums up Desert Gravel.”

As part of their sponsorship, RockyMounts will be providing prizes for participants in a few different ways. “We’ll be giving racks away for the winners of a Strava segment, swag and product as part of other prize packages and overall just increasing the stoke-level surrounding this incredible event. We want to help show off this place we call home, and supporting local events that align with that mission is huge for us,” said Joey Early, creative marketing manager, RockyMounts.

With COVID, it’s difficult for any event promoter to say with 100% certainty that the “show will go on. Murri remains hopeful but is also grounded in reality. “We know COVID restrictions might cause us to reschedule this event for the spring, but we’re still optimistic. Registration for the Co2uT is almost full, and folks are sticking with us. Our registration and refund policy is solid and offers the flexibility that people need,” said Murri. “Regardless of if the event happens in October or April of 2021, we’re thrilled to add a ‘home-town’, high-caliber brand such as Rocky Mounts to the Desert Gravel fold.”
