Costa Announces Key Roster Changes to Stregnthen its position in Core Markets

Daytona Beach, Fla. (July 13, 2017) – Costa Del Mar, manufacturer of premium polarized sunglasses for life on and off the water, announced today several new positions and promotions. New hires and redefined roles highlight Costa’s rapid growth and attention to their core fishing community and sport market.

New roles and positions are outlined below.
- Dave Bulthuis will assume the newly created role of VP, Industry Relations and Government Affairs. For the past 14 years, Dave has served as VP of Sales and remains the most active and passionate champion of the Costa brand. Under his leadership, Costa grew from a small, niche fishing company in Florida, to the fastest growing performance sunglass brand in the US. In his new role, Dave will be actively involved in representing Costa with trade assoications, conservation initiatives and important matters that support and protect recreational and sport fishing practices at the local, state and national level.
- Travis Owens, who has worked closely under Dave’s leadership for more than a decade, has been promoted to Senior Director of Sales, Sport Channel. Travis has over 20 years experience with the Costa brand across many different roles in the organization. In his new position he will have full responsibility for the company’s most strategic customer base in the Sport Channel, overseeing all Key Accounts and Field Sales activities.
- Amanda Sabin has been promoted to Community Manager, Core Markets, overseeing all of Costa’s fishing activities (Inshore, Offshore, Bass and Fly). Amanda most recently served as Costa’s Offshore Community Leader, and has proven to be a dedicated brand advocate. Amanda is a passionate fisherman, conservationist and leader who is well known and respected across the industry. She is a tireless advocate, working to bring more women into the sport and the business of fishing.
- Andrew Cox will join the Costa team as the Offshore Community Leader, replacing Amanda Sabin in her prior role. Most recently, Andrew served as the Editor in Chief at Marlin Magazine, and has extensive experience in the sport fishing industry, and a strong passion for conservation initiatives that matter most to Costa’s core consumers. Andrew will be responsible for fostering relationships with our key pros and influencers, working closely with conservation groups and increasing awareness both within Costa’s core geographies as well as new markets such as California.
