Aircontact Ultra features bluesign®-certified fabric, is free of harmful PFCs and features over 50% recycled materials
LONGMONT, Colo. (May 17, 2022)/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – deuter, the global leader in backpacks and outdoor equipment, celebrates the launch of its new Aircontact Ultra backpacking collection by earning the Editors’ Choice Award in Outside’s 2022 Summer Gear Guide. Outside’s coveted Gear Guide highlights the industry’s top-performing products in a set of in-depth field tests, taking important factors into consideration like how the product is made and its impact on the environment. Of the product assortment recognized for Editors’ Choice Awards, deuter’s Aircontact Ultra was highlighted for its smart balance of weight, plentiful features, durability, and its sustainably materials.
“Being recognized with an Outside’s Editors’ Choice Award is a nod to the way deuter continues to bring the highest quality backpacks to the market. The Aircontact Ultra is the reflection of customer demand to create a pack that balances a lightweight design with a comfortable experience. We believe we have delivered on this promise and we’re pleased to introduce this collection to entry-level and seasoned hikers,” says Jonathan Degenhardt, managing director at deuter USA.
In its review, Outside testers highlighted how the Aircontact Ultra is perfectly designed for the “ultralight-curious,” bridging the gap between ultralight and ultra-comfortable. At 50+5 liters and 45+5 liters, the Ultra is deuter’s lightest design, coming in at 2 pounds 11 ounces (50+5 liter). The back length is easily adjustable with a clip and loop system, making it perfect for a variety of body types, and the pack is made with the lightest body fabric deuter has ever produced in the category, while still maintaining signature durability. Additionally, the lightweight spring steel wire carry system traces the curvature of the spine and hips, allowing a 70-percent load transfer to the hip belt, providing flexibility for the pack to move with you.
Other features include:
- deuter’s updated Aircontact back system with lightweight mesh foam, allowing for increased breathability at a low weight;
- bluesign®-certified body fabric and over 50% recycled materials;
- two half-liter hip belt pockets for sunscreen, snacks or water bottles;
- detachable sternum strap and stabilizer straps for a snug, custom fit;
- gear loops on the front and shoulder straps to secure GPS, maps, lip balm, etc.; and
- the deuter Promise for free lifetime service and repairs.
The Aircontact Ultra is currently available at REI.com and Public Lands and will be available at select retailers partners this summer. For more information, please contact Account Manager Maria Brickman: maria.brickman@rygr.us.
