Since 2014, Ecōths’ 3 Program donates three meals for every garment purchased
Reno, NV – December 7, 2017 – To celebrate the 2017 #GivingTuesday, eco-friendly men’s clothing brand Ecōths, donated 140,027 meals to twelve foodbanks throughout the United States. As part of its 3 Program, Ecōths provides a minimum of three meals to one person for one day with the purchase of one garment. Since 2014, the family-owned and operated company has donated over 300,000 meals to those in need through regional foodbanks in their sales rep’s territories.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 12.3 percent of American households, or 15.6 million people deal with food insecurity. Through their 3 Program, Ecōths donated enough meals from their 2017 sales to feed at least 46,675 people for one whole day. Donations went to the following food banks: Montana Food Bank Network, Greater Boston Food Bank, Atlanta Community Food Bank, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Roadrunner Food Bank, Yuma Community Food Bank, Food Lifeline, Alameda County Community Food Bank, Great Plains Food Bank, Three Square, Utah Food Bank and the Food Bank of Northern Nevada.
“Hunger touches every community,” states Tom Williamson, VP of Sales and Marketing for Ecōths. “At Ecōths, we’re proud to make a difference with every garment we sell, and strive to do good in all we do from using sustainable fabrics to working with Fair Trade Certified™ factories.”
On December 8th Ecōths will donate to the Food Bank of Northern Nevada on a live CBS food drive telethon on Reno’s KTVN.
