Farm to Feet sponsors “America’s Toughest DOUBLE Road Marathon”

Mt. Airy, North Carolina, April 19, 2017 — Farm to Feet, makers of 100% American socks, is proud to announce its title sponsorship of the inaugural Blue Ridge Double Marathon. The sponsorship is in addition to Farm to Feet’s continuing sponsorship of the Blue Ridge Marathon as the official sock.  Both events will be held this Saturday, April 22, 2017, in Roanoke, VA, along with a marathon relay, half marathon, 10k and 1 miler for children.

“The Blue Ridge Marathon is a challenging course and to complete it twice is an amazing feat,” said David Petri, Farm to Feet marketing director.

The race course starts in downtown Roanoke and climbs to the top of Mill and Roanoke Mountains.  Following sections of the Blue Ridge Parkway, the course has a total elevation change of 7,430 feet, making it America’s toughest road marathon.  Competitors running in the double event will complete the course twice.

Double marathon runners will start their race at 1 am if they plan to finish their first lap in around six hours.  Competitors who plan to finish in less than five hours will start at 2:30 am.  All the of the racers must complete their first lap by 7:35 am to start with all the other runners in the full marathon event.

Every double marathon entrant will receive a pair of Farm to Feet Blue Ridge compression run socks.  The over the calf Blue Ridge feature graduated compression to assist blood flow and reduce muscle vibration for enhanced performance and recovery.  The sock also has half density cushioning underfoot for lightweight comfort.
