Farm to Feet teams up with Derick Lugo: The Unlikely Thru-Hiker

Mt. Airy, NC (April 13, 2022) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ Farm to Feet, makers of 100% American socks, has signed thru-hiker and author Derick Lugo on as a brand ambassador. Lugo, author of The Unlikely Thru-Hiker: An Appalachian Trail Journey, will wear Farm to Feet socks on his thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) this summer as well as provide content, product feedback, and appear at events on behalf of the brand.

“Derick has a magnetic personality and as anyone who has ever met him knows, he’s passionate about hiking and storytelling – a perfect match for Farm to Feet,” said Matt Brucker, Farm to Feet General Manager. 

Lugo, a native New Yorker, hiked the Appalachain Trail in 2012 with no camping or hiking experience before embarking on the long distance hike. He recounted the experience in his 2019 book The Unlikely Thru-Hiker: An Appalachian Trail Journey.  Lugo, known on the trail as Mr. Fabulous, set out to thru-hike the Continental Divide Trail this month with plans to complete it by mid September. 

“I had no idea how important socks were before my thru-hike,” said Lugo. “Having socks that dry quickly, are comfortable and durable is essential, and Farm to Feet checks all those boxes and I look fly in them.”

Lugo departed on his CDT thru-hike on April 12, 2022, and will be participating in the Continental Divide Trail Coalition’s Trail Days in Silver City, NM, April 22-24, where the CDTC will be celebrating its 10 year anniversary.
