Flylow shows off new Perm at Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show

Custom-designed fabric arrives for winter 2019 as most waterproof, stretchy & air permeable fabric on the market
DENVER, COLO. – Flylow (www.flylowgear.com), the independent, homegrown and mountain-raised creators of outerwear and apparel, will be showing off their new Perm at next month’s Outdoor Retailer + Snow Show.
The Perm, by Intuitive, is a custom-built technical fabric that sets a new standard for skiing performance by combining the triple crown of air permeability, performance stretch and industry-standard waterproofness.
Flylow created The Perm as the foundational material for their new Cooper Jacket and Smythe Pant, which will be unveiled at retail in fall 2018.
“For us, it began with a design conversation about how to create a legitimate backcountry jacket and pant that was truly comfortable during a climb but could still deliver Flylow level protection and durability during the descent. Each of the individual technical features we wanted were out there, they just weren’t all in a single location,” said Dan Abrams, co-founder of Flylow. “We knew what we wanted, and we couldn’t find it. So we built The Perm from scratch.”
The Perm’s technical stats include 20K waterproofness, the industry standard for weather protection; 0.1 cfm Air Permeability, which allows body heat to escape the wearer’s microclimate before they sweat; and full performance stretch throughout each garment.
Both the new Cooper Jacket and Smythe Pant excel for seekers of more comfortable ascents and more enjoyable descents, whether they’re standing shoulder-to-shoulder in crowded tram lines or bootpacking to points well beyond those crowds.
The Cooper Jacket ($450) is a streamlined, hardshell that features 15mm seam tape throughout the jacket, articulated shoulders and sleeves, 12-inch pit zippers, a helmet-compatible hood and five pockets.
The Smythe Bib ($450) is Flylow’s lightest bib ever, featuring 500 denier Cordura cuffs, outer thigh vents, articulated knees and full 15 mm seam tape protection. In addition to two thigh pockets and one seat pocket, the Smythe’s three vertical chest pockets are mapped to be backpack-strap friendly.
