G3 products earn awards, accolades from Skiing, Freeskier, Backcountry, Backpacker and Transworld Snowboarding.
Vancouver, B.C. (Oct. 12, 2016) – G3, maker of cutting-edge backcountry ski and snowboard equipment, earned multiple awards and accolades for its Fall 2016 gear from a range of ski and outdoor publications, including Backpacker, Skiing, Transworld Snowboarding, Freeskier and Backcountry.
G3 earned recognition from top ski and snowboard industry publications for products across all categories. The FINDr skis, ION 12 binding, ION LT binding, SCALA skins and Alpinist splitboard skins were lauded among the most notable backcountry focused products this season.
The ION bindings have continued to impress ski media in their third year on the market. This season, the ION 12 binding was named Editor’s Pick by Freeskier Magazine, which praised its durability, saying, “the ION 12 totally delivers on the gnarliest of terrain and the longest of days.” Both Backpacker and Backcountry Magazine gave the Ion 12’s lightweight counterpart, the Ion LT, their coveted Editor’s Choice awards.
The all-new FINDr ski series is designed with versatility in mind for everything from long tours to powder days to ski mountaineering. They pair full carbon-fiber construction with full-length Polyurethane (PU) sidewalls to create a damp, smooth ride in a light, stiff ski. The FINDr 94 and FINDr 102 skis were named “Gear Guide Select” in this year’s Backcountry Magazine Gear Guide. The FINDr 94 also received an ISPO award at the European outdoor trade show earlier this year. The entire FINDr series has garnered intense media excitement ahead of the 16/17 ski season.
G3 continued its command of the skins market with awards for both the SCALA and Alpinist High Traction Splitboard skins. The SCALA skins, which are engineered to help skis plane to the surface in difficult trail-breaking conditions, were named “Hot Gear” by Skiing Magazine and “Best in Snow” by Engearment at the 2016 SIA tradeshow earlier this year. The Alpinist High Traction Splitboard skins were dubbed “Tested and Approved” by Transworld Snowboarding.
“We’re excited to see such a diverse array of G3 products receive such high praise,” said Oliver Steffen, founder and owner of G3. “At G3, we’ve always been about creating the full range of products that guides and serious backcountry skiers would choose to use, and this kind of recognition across such a wide array of media helps confirm to us that the 2016/17 lineup continues to hit that sweet spot.”
