Gerber Gear Doubles Down with Packable Folding Machete

PORTLAND, Ore. (January 20, 2020) — GERBER, an industry-leading manufacturer of knives and multi-tools announced today the introduction of the new Doubledown folding machete. The first look at the Doubledown will come at SHOT Show 2020 in Las Vegas, January 21^st – 24^th. Available in June 2020 on www.gerbergear.com, the American-made Doubledown joins a growing category of Gerber tools serving the modern outdoorsman and will retail for $120 [silver/black, silver/green] and $130 [black/black].

Made in Gerber’s Portland factory, the Doubledown is built for an array of tough, demanding tasks in the backcountry. The weight-forward blueprint, notched grip with forward jimping, and ergonomic handle is up for any chopping or batoning task that you can marshal. The slight recurve towards the base of the blade allows for typical knife-like handling when choked up on the grip. The full 6.75” blade, made with 420HC steel, can be quickly resharpened in the field. To keep operators safe in the wilderness, the QuadLock system engages in three positions and ensures a secure blade. Lastly, the MOLLE-compatible sheath allows for easy and readily-available transport whether on a backpack or a belt for use at a moment’s notice.
