Injinji Launches Artist Designed Series

Injinji collaborates with Kika MacFarlane on the Canyons Collection

San Diego, Calif. (May 1, 2023) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Injinji, the innovator of the patented five-toe Performance Toesock™, is announcing the launch of their new Artist Designed series that features unique, nature-inspired limited edition designs created by talented artists. To begin the series, Injinji collaborated with Idaho-based artist and designer, Kika MacFarlane, on the Canyons Collection.

“For the Artist Designed series, we really wanted to highlight the artistry, elegance, and environmental awareness that artists like Kika are bringing to the outdoor space,” said Director, Ecommerce and Operations at Injinji, Claire Kooperman. “The Canyons collection not only shows the power and beauty that comes from water, but the effect it has on all that surrounds it.”

Inspired by the natural beauty that occurs when rivers intersect with deserts, the series features eight designs that highlight the different means by which waterways carve out desert landscapes and bring life to desolate areas. Each design draws attention to the impact natural processes have on landscapes, and also the perspective of people experiencing nature.

MacFarlane is a visual designer and artist with deep experience in visual design in the outdoor space. Originally from Colorado, MacFarlane used her artistry and love for the outdoor apparel industry to work in-house at Patagonia and Stio, build a career as a freelance illustrator and artist and become the co-founder of women-owned and led design and animation studio, Two Toes Creative.

“Getting to design an artist collection for Injinji was a dream come true — I had so much fun being playful with colors and exploring different elements of the desert and rivers theme to incorporate into the project,” MacFarlane said. “Spending time in the desert and running rivers has not only impacted my art, but has also instilled a deep love for these places and a desire to protect them. I hope you feel that love in every pattern and that you bring these socks to the outdoor places you love!”

The styles within the limited edition collection include: Men’s and Women’s No-Show, Men’s and Women’s Mini-Crew, and Men’s and Women’s Crew. The designs featured in select styles include; Doodle, Horizon, Flow, Stream, Midnight, Cascade, Sunrise, and Poppy.

The Canyons collection will be available via Injinji.com starting May 1, 2023.
