Introducing Altra’s First Low-Drop Shoe AltraFWD Experience

For over a decade now, Altra has been delivering comfort to as many runners as possible through natural foot positioning on both road and trail. The AltraFWD Experience launches as a continuation of this mission, as well as an evolutionary step for the brand that serves to expand the product offering and define a new running experience for Altra.

Constructed as a performance-forward lightweight shoe, the AltraFWD Experience allows you to run more with a comfortable engineered upper and spacious toe box positioned on Altra’s Standard Footshape Fit. Effort less with rocker shape geometry encouraging efficient toe-off and a 4mm low drop that allows for a smooth and quick roll through any stride. The neutral stack heights (men’s 32-28mm and women’s 30-26mm) combined with lightweight, compression molded foam creates an effortless-performance ride for all runners.

With the help of consumer feedback and athlete testing, the AltraFWD Experience was designed for the runner for whom performance is a given, and style is a must. Through the testing process, Altra Elite athletes emphasized the effortless feel and natural propulsion they had when running in this shoe – an emphasis on enjoying the experience of the ride.

“I believe there are a lot of benefits to rotating in a 4mm drop shoe that complement the use of zero-drop shoes,” said Altra Elite Athlete and product tester, Cal Neff. “Biomechanically, the 4mm AltraFWD Experience will allow for an efficient running form and forward-propelling stance, especially as fatigue sets in.”
