Katadyn Group adds the world’s leading ultraviolet, handheld water purifier to its brand family
KEMPTTHAL, Switzerland (July 20, 2017) – Katadyn Group announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the assets of Hydro-Photon, Inc. the makers of the world’s leading ultraviolet, handheld water purifier, the SteriPEN. The acquisition is planned to close near the end of July 2017.
“We’ve long admired SteriPEN products, especially for travel and virus removal,” said Shawn Hostetter, president of Katadyn North America. “SteriPEN has established itself as a true leader and innovator and we are excited to welcome them into Katadyn Group’s family of brands. SteriPEN will provide new purification products to our customers, allowing Katadyn the widest range of safe drinking water options for travelers, backpackers, militaries and humanitarian organizations around the world.”
SteriPEN’s marketing and distribution operations will move to Katadyn’s North American headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota. SteriPEN will maintain a small technical office in Ellsworth, Maine.
