Old Fort, N.C. /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Kitsbow Cycling Apparel announces its 2022 Kitsbow Ambassador Team, comprising a diverse group of 29 women and 30 men who were selected because of their passions for cycling, involvement in their local communities, and their work to get more people on bikes.

Kitsbow’s 2022 team consists of passionate cyclists from all corners of the United States – ranging in age from 21 to over 70 years old. They are community ride leaders and youth coaches. They have dedicated their careers to public transit and working to change laws and policy to create safer biking in urban areas. They are executive directors for non-profits and managers of land conservation trusts. They are professors and a few are environmental scientists. Most of all, each and all love to ride.

“Kitsbow is excited to support our Ambassadors’ adventures by making sure they are equipped with high-quality apparel,” explained Katherine Ehrlichman, manager of community activities. “From cross country races to multi-week bikepacking trips, some ambassadors are planning on breaking their personal records and others are planning on smashing some fastest known times on various routes across the country. Some have trips planned to revered mountain bike locations or right around the corner in their local region, while others are trying to get as far away from humans as possible, all on their own two wheels. We want to share their inspiring stories and look forward to creating deeper connections to cycling communities around the country.”

“I’m really excited to be working with Kitsbow this year!” said new Kitsbow ambassador Shanna Powell / EndlessBikeGirl (she/her). “They are doing great things for the local Western North Carolina community by providing living wage jobs in Old Fort. They care about the environment and show it by reducing their footprint through their ‘make mine’ manufacturing model and their movement to sew everything in the USA. It’s important to me to support brands that care about the local community and environment…It makes a difference in not only my life but also gives me the power to help change the world around me by supporting brands I believe are doing good things in a conscientious way.”

Washington, D.C.-based Robin Walker (he/him) has been a Kitsbow ambassador for three years and explained why he looks forward to the 2022 program. “I became involved with Kitsbow because I loved the high-quality, good-looking bike gear made to be repaired and last a long time–as Kitsbow proved to me by repairing my flannel for me after I crashed. I’m proud to continue as an Ambassador because in 2022, Kitsbow has doubled down on values I strongly believe in: sustainability, domestic manufacturing, investing in and revitalizing a community, and becoming an employee-owned B corporation.”

Returning Kitsbow ambassador Finch (she/her) added, “Kitsbow’s focus on sustainability and made-to-order domestic production is refreshing and reflects the type of clothing industry I feel proud to support. Not only does the company have strong values that resonate with me, but the clothing is great quality and size inclusive. Kitsbow also fosters community by supporting their Ambassadors’ local cycling communities and adventures through programs like 36 Hours in Kitsbow. I am so grateful to be part of the Ambassador team for 2022 and can’t wait for the collaboration that awaits this year!”
