Kitsbow Expands Sizing Options to Meet Every Body’s Needs
May 7, 2021
OLD FORT, North Carolina (May 7, 2021)— Never afraid to explore new ground and innovate, Kitsbow announces an exciting step in their “Made to Order” journey: a renewed focus on inclusive sizing. Taking advantage of their unique ability to design, cut and sew completely within its factory in Old Fort, North Carolina, Kitsbow has begun to offer a thoughtful, wider range of sizes and styles to meet every body’s needs. Kitsbow continues its mission to make the most functional and comfortable cycling apparel on the market by building more inclusive and well-fitting clothing at both ends of the size spectrum.
Fit and design have always been a driving force behind Kitsbow’s innovation. Founder Zander Nosler started the company largely because he had trouble finding high quality gear that fit his frame. Now with Kitsbow’s ability to hand make their garments, continued research and development allows their team to make gear that fits all shapes and sizes.
And it’s not just about adding more sizes. Kitsbow’s first effort was the Icon Shirt, offered in a range of six sizes but also in three different fits, for a total of 17 choices to find the perfect size match. Imagine gear in a full range of sizes from XXS to XXXXL, but also in a variety of lengths and fits. “When compared to the current limited selection available from most brands, offering this kind of flexibility and variety sounds like a dream. But this is the kind of tailored and inclusive buying experience Kitsbow is working to create,” explained David Billstrom, CEO of Kitsbow.
In Kitsbow’s Lean Manufacturing Model, garments are Made to Order, meaning the size and fit wasn’t a pre-ordered guess at the beginning of the season. Instead, items are made specifically for the fit and function of the body that purchases it. This process not only eliminates the waste of unpurchased sizes, but also opens up more options and availability for folks who wear less common sizes.
And this is just the beginning of Kitsbow’s inclusive size offering. Because of Kitsbow’s commitment to doing it right, each new size will be released only after it has been proven to fit and perform, with Kitsbow’s incredibly high standards applied to every single sizing option. The first styles to be offered in their new extended sizing are the Crew, V-Neck, and the Cyclone Tee, with plans to keep evaluating every style and expand sizes throughout their products. “In tech tees, we will be able to offer 90 variations of fit and sizes, ranging from XXS to XXXXL,” says Billstrom. “These are just the first fit and size variations announced for Kitsbow; there are many more to come.”
He added, “We know that humans come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and through our innovative manufacturing process, we plan to allow each and every body to comfortably enjoy their favorite outdoor adventures.”
