Climbing On the Moon Collection Celebrates the Sport’s Heritage
BOULDER, CO (JUN 22, 2023) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – La Sportiva, makers of the world’s finest mountain gear, today announces its exclusive new apparel for spring 2024. The spring line is highlighted by the Climbing On the Moon apparel collection. This limited-edition capsule celebrates the golden age of climbing, a time when climbing experienced groundbreaking transformation and left an indelible mark on the world. This period saw the release of revolutionary shoes such as the Futura and the Kendo, which helped athletes redefine what was possible, completing jaw dropping first ascents across the globe. The Climbing On the Moon collection brings back La Sportiva’s iconic 80s branding, allowing climbers and outdoor enthusiasts to relive the nostalgia of a bygone era.
“The Climbing On the Moon line is a tribute to the golden years of climbing and celebrates the ethos on which the company was founded,” says Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “Climbers are rebels. They are fueled by the desire to push their limits and are always looking to explore the boundaries of what is possible. Climbing On the Moon is about embracing innovation, daring greatly, and refusing to accept the status quo. With a throwback logo and vintage colorways, this collection showcases the heritage and craftsmanship that have made La Sportiva a central part of the global climbing community.”
La Sportiva is committed to reducing its environmental impact and is constantly searching for materials and practices that help to shrink the brand’s footprint. For Spring 2024, the brand is implementing recycled cotton into its line. Recycling cotton fibers helps to reduce pressure on land, water, and other resources needed to grow new crops. La Sportiva is utilizing this low-impact fabric in a variety of its products in the new spring collection, including the Sierra Rock Pant and Sierra Rock Shorts.
Made from hemp and recycled cotton, the Sierra Rock Pant and Shorts are designed to offer all-day comfort at the gym or the crag. The pants feature an ankle cord for fit regulation, while both models include elastane for added stretch and freedom of movement. The pant has an MSRP of $119, and the shorts are priced at $99.
The new Comp T-Shirt and Comp Shorts are designed for climbers looking to conquer challenging routes. Made from 100% recycled fabrics, the ultralight Comp T-Shirt comes equipped with an anti-bacterial Polygiene treatment and offers climbers unbridled mobility for tackling difficult problems. Featuring a minimalist construction for harness compatibility, the Comp Shorts are constructed with premium Bluesign approved fabrics. An integrated gusset allows for an increased range of motion, while the carefully constructed waistband provides comfort and security. Available for men and women, the T-Shirt retails for $55, while the short has an MSRP of $69.
The new collection will be available at select specialty retailers and at www.lasportivausa.com in the spring of 2024. Select samples for media will be available prior to the release of the line.
