Floating Serrated Knife named Overall Winner of Scandinavian Outdoor Award

Seattle, WA – June 21, 2018 – Morakniv®, creator of quality Swedish knives since 1891, proudly announces that its new Floating Serrated Knife has claimed a prestigious award at the OutDoor show in Friedrichshafen. An international jury named the Floating Serrated Knife the Overall Winner of the Scandinavian Outdoor Award. 

The Scandinavian Outdoor Award is given to products based on functionality, quality, innovation, design and sustainability. The Overall Winner is the product jurors feel offers the most complete performance in each specification. The jury cited the Floating Serrated Knife’s unmatched performance and overall design, adding: “The super light weight makes it not only a great knife for kayaking or boating, but also for hiking and backpacking. The more we tested the Morakniv the more we loved it.”

The Floating Serrated Knife was developed for the offshore industry with thoughtful features that make it a perfect fit for a wide range of activities on and off the water. It is the first version of a brand-new handle technology featuring a highly visible orange polymer core surrounded by cork, ensuring the knife will not only float but be easily spotted if it’s dropped in the water. The coil-formed ergonomic handle provides a comfortable and secure grip in wet or dry conditions and doesn’t conduct cold. The thin serrated 3.7” stainless steel blade is specially designed to cut rope, nylon and other fibers, with a rounded tip and robust finger guard to prevent injury. The sheath is made of the same highly visible polymer as the handle’s core, with a belt clip and smart button that allows the user to connect and link several knives together. The Floating Serrated Knife weighs just 3.07oz. It will be available to U.S. customers late 2018 with an MSRP of $27. 

The Morakniv Floating Serrated Knife will make its U.S. debut at the Outdoor Retailer show in Denver this July at the Industrial Revolution booth #46061-UL.
