Scout 39 puts safety first to inspire a new generation of adventurers
Seattle, WA – March 9, 2022/OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ – Morakniv®, creator of quality Swedish knives since 1891, proudly unveils a new collection of outdoor knives designed to inspire the next generation of adventurers, along with carbon steel versions of two popular Woodcarving options. The Scout 39 and Scout 39 Safe are the latest in a long line of Scout knives dating back nearly a century. This classic outdoor knife is an ideal first model for learning knife skills and can be used for a variety of projects, with thoughtful design features that put user safety first. Additionally, Morakniv welcomes two new woodcarving knives to its lineup, the Woodcarving 106 and 120 in carbon steel.
The Scout 39 features a barrel-shaped handle made of Scandinavian birch wood, designed to rest comfortably in a small hand. With double finger protection and an optional rounded tip, the knife is an ideal entry-level option for young adventurers. The Scout 39 has a 2mm thick blade made from recycled Swedish stainless steel, with a full rat-tail tang that runs through the length of the handle for added strength and stability. The sheath is made from vegetable tanned leather and has a strap that can easily and safely attach to a belt, with a classic button lock to secure the knife in place. The Scout 39 is available in two versions, with or without a pointed tip, and comes in three colors. MSRP: $49.99
“When updating these knives, we had the history of the Scout knives in mind,” says Linus Bastman, Project Manager & Product Developer at Morakniv. “These knives were introduced in the late 1920s, so people are familiar with the design when looking at them. This new collection features updated colors and materials so customers are getting a little bit of the past and a little bit of the future in one beautiful package.”
Morakniv is also thrilled to introduce the Woodcarving 106 and Woodcarving 120 in carbon steel. These models are excellent options for beginners, with a barrel-shaped handle of Scandinavian birch wood that is comfortable in the hand and easy to maneuver. Both feature high-quality carbon steel blades that are easy to sharpen for extended use. The Woodcarving 106 features a long, tapered blade (82mm) while the Woodcarving 120 features a short, tapered blade (60mm), and both are a full tang design for added stability. MSRP (both): $29.99
